Arden Courts: Each month, Community Covenant hosts a worship service for the residents of Arden Courts, a memory assistance facility in nearby Annandale. Other activities and events with the residents occur throughout the year.
Homework Help: Once a week, Community Covenant members provide homework help and a hot meal for local elementary school students. The focus is to assist students who have parents whose first language is not English.
Rising Hope: Community Covenant works closely with the various ministries at Rising Hope Methodist Mission, a mission church on the Route One corridor in Alexandria. Our work with Rising Hope includes backpack drives, providing a “course” in Thanksgiving baskets, and sponsoring a monthly meal for the homeless and needy. Both individuals and groups from the church also work at the church to help sort clothes and staff the food pantry. We also support the food pantry at ECHO in Springfield.
Congo Clinic: Community Covenant partners with other churches in the area to provide the yearly funding for a medical clinic in Modele, Congo, providing medical supplies, improvements to the facility and salaries for nurses for an underserved area of the world.
Oaxaca, Mexico: We partner in prayer and finances with the work of Dr. Cindy Hoover in providing medical assistance and community development. This spring, we supported a retreat for Mexican congregations’ pastors and their families to be spiritually filled and intellectually challenged.
Covenant Mountain Mission Bible Camp: In the summer of 2014, Community Covenant sent a team to host a week of camp in the heart of the Appalachian mountains in the southwestern corner of Virginia. CMMBC serves children by providing a fun-filled week of camp and introducing them to the love of Jesus. Camp is offered at low or no cost to those in need.
