World Relief Offering

This Lent, we will be receiving an offering for Covenant World Relief. Covenant World Relief “participates in God’s transforming mission in the world through disaster relief and community development among the most vulnerable.” Make checks payable to “Community Covenant” with “World Relief” in the memo line. Angel Tree

AngelTreeLogoHelp make a difference for a child this Christmas. Angel Tree is a Prison Fellowship program that connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts. Church volunteers purchase and deliver gifts and the Gospel to children in the name of their prisoner-parent. You are invited to take an angel ornament from the tree in the back of the church sanctuary and purchase the gift that is listed. Volunteers are also needed to help deliver the gifts prior to Christmas. Contact Tim Strunk to volunteer or for more information.

Generous Giving

Thank you, Community Covenant, for your many generous gifts this fall.  Thanks to your generosity: 350 cans of fruit have been given to fill Thanksgiving baskets, 31 boxes of toys and gifts have been given to children around the world through Operation Christmas Child, 250 pounds of food was given to local pantries in September, 3 children from Congo were sponsored through Covenant Kids Congo and 25 new backpacks were given to children returning to school.  Thank you!

Operation Christmas Child

This fall, our church will be packing boxes for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, which sends these gifts to children in need around the world.  Individuals and families are encouraged to pack a shoe box full of gifts and practical items for a child of a certain age.  We will be assembling our boxes and wrapping them during the Sunday School hour on November 18th.  You are also free to bring a completed box to worship with you on the 18th.  For more information on the boxes, visit:   www.samaritanspurse.org/index.php/occ

Thanksgiving Hope-

Join us as we provide hope for families this Thanksgiving by providing a meal.  Please purchase 14 oz. cans of fruit (like fruit cocktail or canned pears, not cranberry sauce) as our church’s one ingredient for the meal.  Other churches will be providing other ingredients to complete the meal.  Cash donations will be used to purchase more cans or to help with providing roasting chickens.  Please have your donations in by November 11; see Martha Reitman with questions.

Sponsor A Congo Kid

The opportunity to support a child and their community in the Congo is available beginning this Sunday.  You can make a difference in the life of a child through this World Vision sponsorship.  Child sponsorship information packets will be available at the church.  The cost to sponsor a child is $40/month.  If you would like to make a cash donation to this ministry, you may write a check to Community Covenant with “Congo Kids” on the memo line.
