Council/Business Meetings – Community Covenant Church

Ministry Team Proposal – A proposal has been put together following our church-wide meeting in late March. Paper copies are available at church or email a pastor to receive a report. In the next few weeks, we will be receiving feedback and suggestions, particularly on the “2 Part Proposal” section, and we will begin “trying out” some of the proposals. If you would like to assist in this work or discussion, please contact a team member or pastor.

Council Positions – Several leadership council positions are opening starting next month. We would like to consider any individual interested in church leadership; open positions include properties, council secretary and Christian formation. If you would like to volunteer or suggest an individual for consideration, please talk to Paul Seguin or one of the pastors.

Summer Schedule

Sunday, June 1^st, Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.; Worship with believer’s baptism at Hunt Valley Pool at 11:00 a.m.

Sunday, June 8^th Last Sunday School of the school year at 9:30 a.m.; Worship at 11:00 a.m.

Sunday, June 15^th No Sunday School; Worship at 10:00 a.m.; Church-wide picnic at 11:30 a.m.

Sunday, June 22^nd No Sunday School; Worship at 10:00 a.m.; Church business meeting at 11:30 a.m.

Sunday Worship at 10:00 a.m. throughout the summer.

Other dates: Nationals Game, July 4; Missions Trip to Covenant Mountain Mission Bible Camp, July 20-25.

Clothing Drive – During the month of May, we will be collecting men’s and children’s clothing, for the Rising Hope Mission. Please donate usable, summer clothing and shoes that are clean and in good condition in the collection bin at the back of the sanctuary to support those in need, who are served by the mission. If you have specific questions, please contact Rob Ericson or Martha Reitman.

Mark your calendars for the evening of January 26^thfor the Annual Meeting of Community Covenant Church. Additional details will be forthcoming. All are encouraged to attend; voting is limited to church members.

A new members class will begin meeting this winter. The class will include an overview of Community Covenant’s beliefs and practices, our history and more. Those who attend will be able to apply for church membership. If you are interested in attending, please speak with a pastor, and we will coordinate classes around individual’s schedules.

A church-wide business meeting will be held Sunday, June 23rd, after the worship service. The primary item on the agenda is voting on church council leadership positions; as well as updates from other ministry areas. All are encouraged to attend; voting is limited to church members.

This month, the nominating committee will meet to discuss filling open church leadership positions. Please keep their work in your prayers. If you would like to discuss these open positions or have thoughts about potential leaders, please see Claire Bentley.

Community Covenant’s annual business meeting will occur on January 27th. There will be a potluck dinner beginning at 6:00 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. If attending the potluck, please bring a dish to pass. Updates from various church ministries and a vote on the 2013 church budget will be among the agenda items. All are welcome; voting is limited to church members.

The following things have been done in the past few weeks to improve the facilities.

-The flat portion of the roof and the eaves have been repaired.

-The air conditioning in the sanctuary has been repaired.

-The upstairs bathroom has been painted, a new lighting fixture and mirror have been installed, and other items are in process.

There will be a church meeting after worship on June 24^th. Topics will include voting for new church leadership, a Navigate process update and an “Above and Beyond” church improvement update. All church attendees are encouraged to attend; voting is limited to church members.

A new 2012 church directory is now available. Hard copies are available at the church. If you would like a directory mailed to you or would like an electronic copy, please contact Aaron in the church office.

Each spring Community Covenant Church offers opportunities to become a church member. Though all who attend are part of our church family, church members have a unique opportunity to vote on concerns of the church and serve in church leadership. If you are interested in becoming a new member or transferring your membership, please contact the church office or Pastor Ryan. Class offerings will vary based on need. Plan on taking this next step of commitment this year!
