The Story – Read through the Bible in 2015! Join CCC on a 31 week journey of reading through the Bible using “The Story”. Sermons, children’s teachings and Bible studies will all be focusing on the same story on the same week throughout the year. The Old Testament will be covered during the winter and spring and the New Testament will be covered in the fall. Copies of “The Story” for adults and children are available at church or can be ordered online. The journey begins January 18th!
A Second Time in Sunday School! In 2015, the Sunday School classes will be following along with “The Story”. The Bible story of the week will be repeated for all ages during the classes from 9:30-10:30 a.m. There is an adult class, youth class, elementary class and preschool to birth class. Ask Pastor Devyn for more information.
This Week in “The Story:” Each week, CCC reads one chapter of “the Story,” an annotated Bible. Everyone is welcome to join in!
Today everyone is learning about:
Chapter 1: “The Beginning of Life as We Know It.”
It covers Genesis 1-9: The story of the creation of the world and humanity, humanity’s fall into sin and Noah and the great flood.
Next week we will be learning about:
Chapter 2: “God Builds a Nation.”
It covers Genesis 12-35: The story of the God using women and men to create the nation of Israel.
Annual Meeting Details: The annual congregation-wide meeting will be held on Sunday, January 25th at the church. At 5:00 p.m. there will be dinner. Bring your own sandwich and a side to pass. At 6:00 p.m. the meeting will begin and last around an hour. Detailed reports will be available at worship that morning. All are encouraged to attend, voting is limited to church members.
