Worship Next Week – Be sure to come next Sunday, June 20th for a causal time of worship, brunch and engaging God’s word as CCC welcomes Rev. Doug Thorpe to the pulpit. Rev. Thorpe is an ordained Covenant pastor, Christian counselor and member of this church. Rev. Thorpe lived in Springfield and worshipped at Community Covenant for many years before moving two years ago. He and his wife currently live in Richmond.
Women’s Retreat – Time to sign up for the Women’s retreat – Sept 19-21 at Black Rock Retreat Center, PA. Our speaker will be Pastor Rose Cornelious and the topic is “Supporting Suffering People & Their Families”. It is always a ‘mountain-top’ experience and a chance to meet new and old friends . Please join us. Registrations are posted on the women ministries bulletin board in the back of the church. Scholarships are available. Please talk to Lynda or Claire.
Camp Meeting – Individuals volunteering with the CCC trip to Covenant Mountain Mission Bible Camp need to attend a planning meeting this coming Sunday, July 13th after worship. We will be finalizing the camp projects, curriculum and other details of our trip.
Help mow this summer! – Volunteers are needed to help mow the church grounds this summer. Speak to Martha Reitman to get instructions on the riding mower and to volunteer for a week or two.
Item List – The church has some needs perhaps you could fill! We are in need of: a flat screen TV (preferably with an included DVD player) and TV mount for the kitchen and a plastic “tot lot” playhouse/plastic slide for the picnic grove. We are also giving away a large shelving unit and a table from the nursery remodel. Talk to one of the pastors for more information.
Pastors on Missions Trip – From Saturday, July 19 until Friday, July 25, the pastors will be on the church’s missions trip to Covenant Mountain Mission Bible Camp. There is very limited cell service at the camp, so, in case of emergency please call the camp office: 276-346-1013. Please contact church chair, Paul Seguin, with any additional items.
